Meet Monitor Tray, our Windows brightness utility

By Leveraged Interactive2 min readStudio

Our portfolio also includes Monitor Tray, a Windows utility for supported display brightness control. It starts with a familiar problem: a monitor can still be too bright in a dark room after its hardware brightness reaches the minimum.

One slider across two dimming stages

The core idea is continuous brightness control. On a supported display, the hardware portion changes the monitor's own brightness. Extended software dimming provides a darker range below its hardware minimum.

The transition matters because these are different mechanisms. The interface should make the handoff understandable while keeping the everyday action simple: choose a comfortable level from the tray.

A desk can have more than one display

Monitor Tray includes per-monitor controls and synchronized adjustment, time-based dimming and optional dimming based on bright content. Adjust one display independently or keep several screens at a comfortable level together.

Support depends on the display and control path exposed through Windows. Hardware dimming is not universal across every monitor, connection or setup; the dedicated website explains compatibility in more detail.

Why it has its own website

Someone evaluating a brightness utility needs compatibility, availability and support information close at hand. Those needs differ from browsing a game portfolio.

This studio introduction connects the project to our portfolio. monitortray.com remains the home for detailed product information and future release announcements, so its answers stay in one place rather than being duplicated across websites.

Current availability

Monitor Tray is in private testing. This introduction does not announce a public installer, purchase offer or completed public release.

Visit its dedicated website for current status. The Leveraged Interactive mailing list also covers studio news, including apps as well as games.
