Ticker Panic: a stock market game on Steam
Ticker Panic is a stock market trading game about decisions under pressure. Watch moving charts, read market events and trade fictional assets while trying to grow your net worth. The interesting part is what happens between deciding to trade and actually getting the result you wanted.
What you actually do
The dashboard brings the stock list, selected chart, portfolio heat map, market events and order ticket together. Select a company, inspect its movement, choose a trade size and place an order. The ledger records what filled so you can compare the decision you meant to make with the trade that actually happened.
Cash and holdings give you different kinds of flexibility. Cash lets you respond to a new opportunity; a holding exposes you to the next move. Growing an account means deciding how much of each to keep, rather than simply clicking whichever line happens to be green.
A market that reacts to you
Ticker Panic uses finite market depth. A large order can consume available shares, fill only partly or move the price. Selling a huge position is a different challenge from buying a small one. An exciting headline can attract attention without creating enough buyers for your whole exit.
Distinct stock personalities add another layer. Speculative companies, calmer core assets and funds need not respond alike. Event reactions, liquidity and your own trade size create decisions that a price-only guessing game would miss.
Adjust the pace, then inspect the result
Pause and variable time speeds let you slow down to read or speed up when you know what you are waiting for. Advisor explanations help interpret the desk and events. They do not supply guaranteed winning entries.
The full-game direction is ongoing play with milestones and personal records, rather than a mandatory finish and restart. Available terminal upgrades and music unlocks give you additional uses for in-game cash, alongside keeping capital available for trading.
Where development stands
Ticker Panic is in development for Windows PC and Steam. There is no confirmed replacement release date, and a public demo is not currently advertised as available. These screenshots show actual development-build gameplay from authored capture scenarios.
